How to unlock a password-protected PDF
Remove a PDF password when you already know it and need an open copy to work with.
Unlock PDF is for files you are allowed to open: you know the password and need an unprotected copy for editing or merging.
Only unlock files you may open
Use unlock on your own archives or files shared with you along with the password. Do not use it to bypass protection you are not meant to remove.
How to use it
- Open Unlock PDF and upload the protected PDF.
- Enter the current password and run unlock.
- Rename if needed, then download the open PDF.
- Use Protect PDF again if you still want a password on the shared copy.
Tip: After unlocking, use Protect PDF again if you still want a password on the shared copy.
